Dr. Marcoux has research and teaching interests in international organization and law, international environmental politics, and qualitative and quantitative research methods. His dissertation research focuses on power in multilateral environmental governance. Dr. Marcoux's current research projects examine the politics of scientific knowledge in global environmental governance and the effectiveness and legitimacy of "earth system governance," an initiative for multilevel international policymaking advanced by the UN Programme on International Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change.
Dr. Marcoux has presented his research at annual meetings of the American Political Science Association, the International Studies Association, and the International Conference on the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change. He has published a review of work on delegation in international organizations in the International Studies Review, has a forthcoming article in the Oxford International Encyclopedia of Peace, and has several research articles currently under review.
