Minoring in Political Science

A minor can be completed by taking the following courses:
PSCI 1014 Introduction to American Government and Politics
PSCI 1024 Introduction to Comparative Government and Politics
PSCI 2014 Introduction to Political Theory or
PSCI 3015 or 3016 Political Theory I or II
Nine additional hours of Political Science courses (six hours at the upper level)

Acceptance into the Political Science minor requires an overall GPA of 3.0.

Applications for the minor are accepted during the third week in September and the third full week in February. Forms will be available from the Political Science office at that time.

Admission to the Major by Internal Transfer

Transfers into the Political Science major are accepted on a competitive basis, depending upon space available. To apply for admission into the major, a student must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher (a GPA of 3.0 for second majors), must have taken PSCI 1014 and PSCI 1024 with grades of C or higher, and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in Political Science courses already taken.

Applications for the major and minor are accepted during the third full week in October and the third full week in February. Forms will be available from the Political Science office at that time and can be downloaded below.

Application dates for Fall 2009 are October 20-27.
Application dates for Spring 2010 are February 15-19
